Christmas Traditions:
Rolled Oat Cookie Recipe
2 Eggs
1 Cup melted shortening
2 Cups brown sugar
1 Cup coconut
1 Teaspoon baking powder
4 Cups rolled oats
1 Cup chopped nuts
½ Teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 4 Tablespoons hot water
2 Cups flour
Beat eggs, add other ingredients in order given, mixing after each addition. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and bake in moderate 350º oven for 15 minutes.
