Christmas (Xmas) Traditions: North Pole
Inspired by the poem “A Visit From Saint Nicholas”, the North Pole as the home of Santa Claus was first depicted by political cartoonist Thomas Nast in an 1885 sketch showing two children looking at a map and tracing his route from the North Pole to the United States.
