Christmas (Xmas) Traditions: Wreath

Christmas wreaths made from evergreens or holly came to represent the eternal life given to Christians through the Savior, Jesus Christ. Prior to the Christian era, evergreens had been used as a symbol of new life overcoming the death of winter. The use of evergreens as Christmas decorations started in northern Europe. Today festive Christmas wreaths hung on doors and walls welcome visitors to our homes.
